Every summer the Queen of Denmark, Queen Margrethe comes to Aarhus to spend time at her summer Palace. This year, she arrived on the 14th of June and will stay till the 17th of July. Her Palace is located across the street from one of our favourite playgrounds, Mindeparken, and while we were there playing, we got to see the changing of the guards.
Everyday at noon, the The Danish Royal Guards march from their barracks to the beat of a drum and melody of a flute towards the gates of the Palace where they proceed to be inspected and change watch. It was quite interesting to see and the English tour guide who happened to be there provided us with some interesting and fun facts...such as...each Royal Guard wears a tassel...yellow, red, black...which indicates their class...decided on by height!!!
Annika, Hayden and our little friend Ofir had a great time watching.
